International Women’s Day 2022

The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is #BreakTheBias –  imagine a gender-equal world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.

I asked both Chloe and Caroline some questions about gender bias:

What challenges have you faced as a woman in the workplace and what or who has helped you overcome them?

“Mum and my gymnastics teammates have taught me perseverance in both sport and in life which has definitely helped me in recruitment. Recruitment can be a very competitive industry and working within the technology space where it is a very male-dominated space, perseverance is something everyone needs not only females. But thankful these women had thought me it from a very young age and this has always made me rise above and strive to be better.”

Are there any women who have inspired you whether personally or professionally? What impact have they and other role models had on you?

“I have always felt extremely lucky to have been influenced by many women in my life both professionally and personally, I have too many to name. Also being involved in sport as a coach & player, I have been surrounded by many women, girls and men who have been challenging the bias and boundaries for equality for woman on and off the pitch!” – Caroline Kelly
