How do you scale customer support without losing the magic of being human?

They’re building entirely new systems powered by Ai, real-time simulation, and generative tech - and they need a Staff Engineer in Dublin to help lead the charge across EMEA.

This isn’t a “build tickets in the background” kind of job.

You’ll be:

  • Sitting directly with customers
  • Translating real-world chaos into elegant product solutions
  • Shipping features that immediately impact revenue and experience
  • Acting as a technical leader + product thinker + operator

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership (EMEA)

  • Set architecture direction, reliability standards, and performance expectations
  • Make tough trade-offs - and own them
  • Raise the engineering bar across the Dublin team

Build & Scale a High-Impact Team

  • Mentor and grow engineers into future leaders
  • Help hire exceptional talent
  • Shape a high-trust, high-feedback culture

Customer-Driven Product Development

  • Jump on calls with EMEA customers
  • Turn messy problems into shippable solutions
  • Use real usage + metrics to guide decisions

Own Critical Systems End-to-End

  • Data pipelines ingesting thousands of CX conversations daily (Zendesk, Intercom, Salesforce)
  • LLM-powered systems (prompting, evals, retrieval, safety, observability)
  • Real-time scoring & analytics loops driving measurable improvements
  • Modern UIs (React / Next.js) simplifying complex Ai workflows

Cross-Functional Influence

  • Work closely with Product, Design, and GTM teams across Dublin & San Francisco
  • Drive decisions, not just discussions

Requirements:

Proven Staff / Senior Engineer capability (startup experience )

Strong technical leadership - architecture, mentoring, decision-making

Experience building customer-facing products end-to-end

Depth in:

  • Modern web stack (React, Next.js, APIs)
  • Scalable backend systems / microservices
  • Ai / LLM integrations (a strong plus, not required)

Someone who enjoys being close to customers, not shielded from them
