Trader - Market Making and OTC

Location: Non-US. Works US market hours, with light weekend coverage

Reports to: Head of Trading

Employment type: Full-time

The role

We're a market making and OTC desk trading crypto with a focus on DeFi, and we're hiring a trader to own our book.

This is a hands-on trading seat with real ownership from day one: it's our desk, our risk, and we run it well. The work is varied and practical. Some days you're clicking buttons to make money, some days you're running a regression, some days you're on a call structuring a deal. We want someone who likes owning a book and getting the job done, whatever that takes.

What you'll do

●      Trade and provide liquidity. Deploy liquidity and run our market making engines across DeFi venues, watching the market closely.

●      Monitor and tune the trading engines. Adjust parameters to market conditions, keeping quotes and risk where they should be.

●      Debug the engines when they fail. Find the problem, triage it, then fix it or work with eng to sort it out.

●      Build deals with BD (business development / sales). Partner with BD before a deal to define the economics and terms of our MM and OTC agreements.

●      Stay close through the life of the deal. Make sure we're delivering a good service and the arrangement works for both sides.

●      Contribute on the tech. We're a technical desk. You'll debug code, implement changes, and review PRs. Engineers handle the heavy lifting, but you'll help with system design and testing and improve our trading engines over time.

●      Own the risk. Manage the desk's risk during your coverage. That means knowing what the positions actually mean and when to act, not just watching a number.

What we're looking for

●      Trading or trading/ops background. You've traded or run trading operations and understand managing risk on a live book.

●      Risk instinct. Position sizing, when to take risk down, what can go wrong, and the judgment to act under time pressure.

●      An avid coder. Nothing hardcore, but you can code and design systems (working effectively with LLMs is expected) and are comfortable reading and debugging others' code.

●      Crypto experience. Close to essential; you're already comfortable in crypto markets.

●      Ownership and self-sufficiency. You take responsibility and figure things out in an imperfect stack. This is the trait that matters most for the seat.

●      Availability for US market hours, and willingness to share light weekend coverage. Weekends are shared informally.

Nice to have

●      Direct DeFi experience (market making, liquidity provision, on-chain trading). A strong plus, though we'll teach the DeFi side to the right trader.

●      Experience working with BD/sales on deal structuring.

●      Experience building or improving trading tooling and automation.

What we offer

●      Genuine ownership of a book and your own risk from early on.

●      A small, technical, collaborative desk where you're close to the deals and the decisions.

●      The chance to shape our tooling and automation, not just operate it.
