Head of Platform Engineering | Ai | London 5days/week in Office
We are partnered with a fast-growing, well-funded Series A Ai company building the intelligent workspace for global financial institutions. We are looking for a hands-on, high-energy Head of Platform Engineering to own our cloud infrastructure, platform strategy, and growing engineering team.
This is a critical leadership role that will shape how we scale reliable, secure, and compliant Ai-driven platforms for the world’s most demanding banks and private equity firms.
What You Will Own
- Architect and scale production-grade cloud infrastructure (Azure/AKS + Terraform) to support rapid growth and complex financial workloads.
- Build and evolve CI/CD pipelines, observability, and internal developer platforms that enable high-velocity delivery.
- Lead the company through SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other compliance initiatives with rigorous security and secrets management.
- Grow and mentor a high-performing platform team (currently small, targeting 9 engineers by 2026).
- Work closely with product, Ai, and client teams to ensure platform reliability directly impacts business outcomes.
- Champion developer experience and platform thinking across the organisation.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years in platform/infrastructure/SRE/DevOps engineering, with deep hands-on experience running Kubernetes and Terraform at scale.
- 2-5 years leading and scaling engineering teams in high-growth startup environments.
- Proven track record delivering operational excellence and compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or equivalent).
- Strong Linux fundamentals and experience with scalable systems (messaging queues, task queues, etc.).
- Azure experience is highly valued; multi-cloud (AWS/GCP + Azure) is a plus.
- Excellent communicator who can translate complex technical concepts for both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- High-energy, high-ownership mindset with a “player-coach” approach, you ship code and elevate those around you.
- Experience in fintech or other highly regulated industries is a strong advantage.
