Asset Manager | Equipment Finance | Milwaukee, WI, Remote
We are looking for an experienced Equipment Finance Asset Manager to join a growing Equipment Finance platform at a multinational financial institution. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on equipment valuation, residual setting, remarketing, and portfolio risk management.
You will play a critical role in evaluating commercial equipment, establishing accurate collateral and residual values, and managing the full lifecycle of assets from origination support through end-of-lease disposition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed evaluations of commercial equipment and establish residual and collateral values for leases and secured finance transactions
- Identify and mitigate equipment-specific risks in new transactions
- Develop and execute effective remarketing strategies for off-lease and repossessed equipment
- Manage end-of-term activities including inspections, equipment returns, lease extensions, and sales negotiations
- Oversee the third-party appraisal process — select appropriate appraisers and review/approve appraisal reports
- Review and negotiate maintenance and return language in legal documentation
- Collaborate closely with Credit, Pricing, and Sales teams
- Build and maintain strong relationships with equipment brokers, inspectors, and industry partners
Asset Classes:
Manufacturing, Trucking, Mining, Construction, Rail, Materials Handling, Energy, Marine, and Aircraft.
Desired Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in equipment valuation, portfolio management, and remarketing within equipment finance (bank or finance company preferred)
- Strong knowledge of a wide range of equipment types, secondary markets, and depreciation trends
- Proven ability to develop remarketing strategies and manage asset disposition
- Deep understanding of various equipment finance structures and risk mitigation
- ASA or equivalent appraisal certification is a strong plus
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
