Ride For Doddie

We’ve just completed an incredible 460km+ ride from London to Amsterdam and raised over £18,000, all in aid of My Name’5 Doddie Foundation in their fight against motor neurone disease (MND). 🧡 🧡

The challenge we set ourselves in 2023 of cycling from London to Paris was such a success with us raising over £34,000 we wanted to do it again. This year we picked a different location to cycle to and had nearly a full new group of riders. in 2024 we decided with would cycle from London to Amsterdam in 3 days and we decided to partner with the MY Name is Doddie Foundation who are dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by MND.

This cycle was nearly 100km more than the previous year but it was worth is as it was all about making a difference in the lives of those affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation is committed to helping improve the lives of those affected by MND and we are determined to help them continue this important work.

We set a goal of raising £20,000 which was an ambitious target as we only had 16 cyclists this year, non the less we were determined to raise as much money as we could for our chosen charity.

Day 1

We set off from London Bridge at 6am and cycled 139km to Dover. With a race against time in order to reach the ferry in time saw the group split into two groups. One group cycled right onto the ferry with only a few minuets to spare before it departed for France. While the other group took their time and made it to Dover in one piece but exhausted. After the ferry the first group had another 68 km cycle ahead of them in order to arrive at our first stop of Ostend.

Day 2

We all set off together and stayed together for the entire rest of the day, cycling in a peloton formation for nearly the entire 165km to Rotterdam. This day was long and windy but the views and cycle route were spectacular and that kept everyone’s spirts high.

Day 3

Our final day of cycle thankfully was only 75km from Rotterdam to Amsterdam and this seemed like a drop in the ocean compared to the day before. Spirit were extremely high with everyone able to the finish line in sight and a cold beer waiting for them! It also helped that the sun was shining the entire way this day.

We ended at the Rijksmuseum Museum and were greeted by familiar faces cheering and waving flags! These celebrations continue right into the early hours of the next morning and safe to say everyone was extremely proud of themselves.

Traveling alongside us was our amazing support team for keeping us going. Ed Langdon, Alex Howells, John Agar and David Williams your efforts behind the scenes were invaluable so a massive thank you! We wouldn’t have completed this ride without you guys. Also a massive thank you to Jame O’Connor who filmed the entire journey for us and put together the most incredible video.

Last but not least, a massive thank you to our sponsors. Your logos were worn with pride, and your support was key to helping us complete this challenge: Agar Commercial Property Consultants, Docusign, DPH MANAGEMENT SERVICES LTD, Obi, Thompson Leisure Ltd, EOACC in United Kingdom, PlayOJO, Portwest, Gathr® – Formerly London Tech & PE Drinks, Catalyst and Prospera Wealth Management LLP.

We rode for everyone affected by MND, and we couldn’t have done it without the support from each and every one of you!
